This is a reed quintet that I wrote in Turkey at the seaside. Sirocco refers to the Mediterranean wind that envelopes the region. It was in these beautiful surroundings that I set to paper, a playful, and at times mysterious, work that celebrates the reed instruments. The middle of the piece is marked by a slow cantabile melody, soaring and beautiful, as to reflect the majesty of this part of the world.
